My fire and ice is very white. I posted it today. There are so many varieties out there. My daughter has this app to identify hostas. I will try to find out about it. Lovely hosta Shelley. 😍😍

Wow! 30 years! I got some a couple years ago from a plant that's root base was at least 3ft across, I wonder how old that one might have been? 🤔

@lesliecole49 they all grow at different rates Leslie, and I'm a firm believer that grown in pot will somewhat stunt the size (I could be wrong)🤔💘😍

When you ve had a plant that long it s almost a family member isn't it? Or does that sound strange?

@lifeonaroofterrace no it doesn't sound strange, but I used to be very upset if something happened to a plant then I got older and realized sometimes it's totally out of your control and you just have to deal with it! 🤷💘😍

I love the copper pot. Perhaps it helps the roots warm up earlier? Or perhaps you're just lucky to have an early variety? No sign at all of mine yet, but I know where they are😁

@emve thanks Mona! I've had these to long to remember if they the first ones to emerge when they were out in the yard! But your right about liking the copper pot cuz after the first summer they almost filled the pot and they were pretty scroungy when I first planted them💘😍

@hayleyaj I've had this for a lot of years! It was planted under a 40ft. Cedar tree, we took the tree down, it was in our front rockery and way way too large for the area (and messy). After moving it (it's planted in a large oval tin planter) it's done really good!💘😍

You can divide it next spring Shelley and have lots of this lovely! Just take a spade to it as the first growth shows. I've had all mine for about 20 years too, I adore them 😍😍

Well their doing great I hope mine gets bigger I bought it about a month ago and it flowered for me but now it seems like it just stopped, no new little leaves or anything what do you think I should do Shelly it get a few hours morning sun and it's in a flower bed in the front do you think maybe roots from other flowers are bothering it?

@terrimclaughlin usually the only roots that will bother hosta are large roots like tree roots. In my experience that's the way my hostas grow,very sporadic, no matter if I have them in the ground or in a pot. I don't think once it blooms it grows anymore, so whatever size the plant was when it bloomed is what it will be until it loses it leaves this fall. 💘😍
