Evergreen Alkanet, #alkanet always flowers freely and can be rangy and loves this shadey spot by the side of house. But unsure wether I like it. Would you consider friend or foe?
I think it's better to plant well-behaved plants that encourage pollinators instead and don't take over you garden 😁😂 I have jasminum beesianum almost ready to burst into flower and every year it's covered in bees. Also pulmonaria, hardy geraniums (need to be selective, some spread like mad too), wallflowers. 👍
Thats my challenge with a new garden to encourage pollinators and I certainly have flowers that will bring them in. But 📝 those you mentioned and wary of spreaders.. thanks @ublaszko
Absolutely a foe Mark, I've looked into this beastie as I had a lot of it. It has a serious long tap root and spreads rapidly. Dig deep and get it out now! @solly1961
It’s also nice to have indigenous wildflowers and a weed is only a weed if it’s where you don’t want it I like my garden a mix of everything, but probably wouldn’t suit yours or others whose are more formal 😊

Foe. It spreads like wildfire. My whole neighbourhood is full of green alkanet. ☺
Pretty flower but also significant if its a self seeder I'd get rid could take over 😯
Definitely get rid 👍
There's my job for this afternoon, get rid. Thanks for advice @ublaszko @Keely @pelly
Friend...the bees love it 🤷🏻♀️ and if it grows where you don’t want it, you can just remove that bit 😊
Ohhhh a challenge from @rachelbrooks. Not seen any wildlife on it yet so to be convinced..
