I think one of them is having twins 🙈 has anyone ever cut the old leaves to give them more space? They look very cramped #planthelp #help #succulent #lithops #indoorplants #smallspace
Sorry but I haven't got a clue Caitlin. Google it, there's a website dedicated to Succulents but I can't remember it's name. 😊😊😊
@pelly I've had a look on Google, seems best just to leave them! Was curious if anyone had done it 😽
No best to leave the old leaves as that's where they get the moisture and nutrition to grow from. Almost like a seed pod
@Alcurtis93 you're right (as always 😉). Thank you!
No no I'm no expert @tinyweedrams ha. I just enjoy reading up about them :)
@Alcurtis93 you seem like an expert 😝

It's happening!!! #splitting #lithops #indoorplants #smallspace
I'd love to try keeping these. Are they difficult to care for?
@mrsburns for me I was really aware that they're easy to overwater. If you look back through the pictures of mine it got really wrinkly and sad looking cause I was too scared to water it but it bounced right back. I've watered it twice so far since I got it around August? Just do a little reading but you can pretty much leave them to it :)
I've ordered some seeds! Going to give them a go. 🤞
Never grown them from seeds, good luck xx
Love them 💚💚💚💚

These guys are looking really rough 😬 I thought it was new leaves coming through but how bad do they look before they start splitting? Can anyone help? #help #planthelpplease #lithop #succulent-advice
They usually only look bad once the new leaf is fairly well established. Maybe they're dehydrated?
@Alcurtis93 thanks, I'll give them a water... So paranoid about overwatering these guys 😬
Two look okay but that back one I'd say looks like it needs a drop
I know the top dressing looks nice but i personally wouldn't use one as you can't tell when to water unless you get fairly good at just noticing by the weight or by the look of the little guys
@Alcurtis93 it's a mainly perlite mix so it's not much different through... I was told to not use too much soil with these as they catch rot real easy
Yeah my mix is mainly perlite with A sieved cactus mix. You'll have to water quite often as perlite hardly holds any water. I've learnt that lately. Went too overboard on trying to keep them dry which has just slowed their growth. I think you can use almost any soil as long as when you water it's only a little bit
The Succulents really won't like a purely perlite mix though. They need some soil in there. Check out desert plants of Avalon on YouTube and she has a video on her soil mix. She has the healthiest Succulents I've ever seen so I'd copy her
@Alcurtis93 okay! It's so difficult to know cause everyone tells me something different
True but i think most of the issues are that a lot of info is dependent on region. Obviously we are UK so stuff doesn't dry out as quick but pure perlite just isn't good for the roots. That channel is based in Ireland so she will have be a good source
