@drnicko mine was in the ground for years and I took it out and put it into a large plastic container that doesn't drain water. It's been there for 2 years and the fronds are still as large as when it was in the ground. I put it in a pot as I like to move it around during the year to use it as a kind of parasol. I have a smaller one in a wooden barrel on a wall with large fronds.
