Look at this garlic , hard to tell but the stems are bigger then the thickness of a big sharpie marker. And for being in complete shade this whole time, I bet it's going to skyrocket now that it can get a tan on and finally breath. It is a bit yellow though
First year trying. It's not really easy. They seem to grow nicely at the beginning stages but become very picky in the middle of their cycle. It could be that the ones I planted in the back yard (not these ones) may not be in the best spot. But they grew nicely until beginning of summer then become limpy and yellow. And almost impossible to pleas.
These ones I did not plant and found them under a bed of creeping bellflower. It's still on the yellowish side but waaaay bigger and in the shade caused by the overwhelming amount of bellflower

I really want to try to grow some garlic...are they really easy?
