Are your Hippeastrum leaves looking a little worse for wear? Perhaps if you take a close look you'll notice some Brithys crini caterpillars making themselves at home! 🐛 They also love Zephyranthes, Crocus and Crinum as well as Hippeastrum. The adult is a fairly nondescript moth. http://lepidoptera.butterflyhouse.com.au/hade/crini.html #wildlifewednesday

Did you know that red ❤️ varieties of Hippeastrum usually flower first and white ones flower last? All the other colours (lemons, pinks, apricot, rose) 💖 flower in between. Post your Hippeastrums today GTers and tag them with #Hippeastrum
