Just spotted what I'm hoping is a flower bud, had this bulb 3 years now and it's been sadly neglected over that time

This can be a flower bud, they are more wide - leaves are flat, even just tips.

Looks promising 😄 hope it’s the one 👍🏻

Time to start drying out the Amaryllis before it's spell in the fridge

How long in the fridge? And do you cut it down completely first? Cover it with anything? Sorry to shower you with questions like that.

Ooo yes please - I also need some advice. I heard about putting it in the fridge but that sounded like madness !!!!

Take out of pot knock soil off Let them dry out completely cut back old leaves to a couple of cm I'll put mine in a paper bag in veg compartment do NOT store apples in fridge at the same time this makes the sterile for at least 6 weeks then you can start them back off again probably October time @emve @charlotte

Thanks Carol. I will give it a go. Not sure what the husband will think though !!!

Thank you! I would have put the entire pot in, soil and all, so I am glad I asked😂😂😂

Looking after an Amaryllis is new to me too I researched it when I it had finished flowering cause I didn't have a clue what to do with it 😂 😂 @emve

For at least 6 weeks I'm going to put mine in a paper bag @linfoster

Mine is still putting out new leaves,Carol. Do I guess it means it's getting in ng ready/or not to bloom. I was told that it would be Hardy for outside here,do I was going to leave it in it's pot. When should I cut mine BK? I'm still in N. Alabama

Mine is too but because over here we tend to have them flower over Xmas the bulbs need to go through a cold or dormant spell before they flower so we have to replicate those conditions, if yours is kept outside your winter will do it for you @Acetaker cut them back then

Yes,I was told to cut b but not how much. Could u tell me plz😊

You see on my plant where the leaves come from the bulb I would cut bout 2cm above it @Acetaker
