Ok, thanks for all the replies. Here is a leaf from the 'weed', next to a foxglove in a tub, it is hairier than the smoothish foxglove. What do you reckon now?

Hi fellow gardeners, is this a weed? It's leaves are about 10inches long at the mo, and it has long roots. Many thanks, Del

Thanks for the quick reply, I had wondered but when I looked at my Dad's foxolove leaves it looked different. I was just looking at comfrey leaves, quite similar too

Thanks @anges , I'll take another pic 2moro as it is in a bed under red robins, along with a host of weeds, and there are quite a lot of them.

If there's a lot of them it probably is Foxgloves that have self seeded 😊👍 but post a photo to be sure.

Just happened to be at a nature reserve type place (Warley Place) where some volunteers were working, and spotted the same plant but with some small blue flowers. The head gardener told me itsis a nuisance called Green Alkanet, long tap root. YEP! That's definitely it, all out now.thanks fellow gardeneers!
