I guess it has thrown off their growth cycles. The whole world is crazy. The new Covid variant is off the charts here and now my nephew’s fiancé has it. He is a chef in a restaurant and is double vaxxed. Christmas will be quiet again I guess. My youngest daughter is keeping indoors till Christmas and she has Covid tests they can all take so she can come here with her girls. 🤦‍♀️🤷‍♀️

@hkyfvr I’m so sorry to hear that 😔 hopefully it’s true what they say about it being milder than previous variants. Still, it’s not nice to have and certainly not at this time of year 🥺 will keep him in my thoughts xxx

@sharonhayden I get bud drop on this even though it’s an indoor plant. Usually it’s lack of water that does it to mine. Could that be what happened to yours?

@gjones I wish I knew 😂 it sits in a sunny window and just does its thing. My mums friend bought herself and me one last summer - hers flowered once and died but this one shows no sign of letting up. I just repotted it a week ago when it was in bud and even that didn’t affect it 🤣

Yours is so colorful look at that white coming off the red yours even looks more ruffled around the ages I wonder if it’s a different type. But I did giggle when I saw it😂🤣👍🏻👍🏻😊💕

It sure is small Wow mine is huge the pot is about 18 inches across you flowers are going to get more gorgeous with time and I’m not sure but some of my blooms get bigger each year. We’ll have to wait and see😊💕

Maybe it’s some type of dwarf Hybiscus??? If not it seems very healthy and happy😊💕

@terrimclaughlin it’s about double the size from when I got it but it is tiny compared to the flowers. I think keeping it in a small pot didn’t help but it’s in a bigger one now so hopefully will grow more 🤞🏻 I thought the same, the flowers do appear to get bigger each time it flowers. Hopefully one day mine will look as good as yours ☺️ it could be a dwarf, not sure since it didn’t come with any information since the lady that gave it to me removed all the packaging 😜

Thanks Kerry, yes it was. It is a different type to yours, which is the tropical non-hardy type. They were fairly easy to grow from seed. It will be interesting to see how they get on over winter here though! 🙏

Apart from ferns, just about all plants grow from seeds. I didn't even know about this herbaceous type of hibiscus until last year!

@jeatacake I meant most successfully, should have used my words better 😂 will yours have to stay indoors year round?

I'll try anything from seed. Nothing to lose & often you get some pleasant surprises. This winter I will leave them in the greenhouse, but next year I will plant some out & leave them out & 🙏 lol! If they all die over winter, I still have plenty of seeds left. Left me know if you want any BTW👍
