This #collage shows our #thanksgiving #pineapple top I kept to grow. 1-check middle to see if it is intact (some growers drill it out so it can't be grown). 2-remove 1" of leaves from stem. 3-let sit out to dry a bit for a week and then plant in soil. Good luck!

Mother #pineapple put out a pup! My first to do this. 👏 1/23/2018 #pup #newgrowth

Are these the ones that make the little pineapple? Is it edible or ornamental?

Yay!😎💜

Yes, Kari, this is the top off a real pineapple we ate. 🍍I hope to keep the food chain going. 😋👏

Very cool !! Didn't know it was possible to do it

2016 pineapple tops were planted.

I just moved all my #pineapple plants into this pot. They never seem to do anything, so thought I would try something different for them. #ananascomosus #gyo #transplanted #southerncalifornia 19 November 2020
I remember seeing pineapple fields in Australia, they had them on mounds, like my tatties drills. Straight spikey lines!
That is good to know. In Hawaii they grow that way too. My neighbor got here to grow a pineapple with the use of a plastic bag as a green house each evening. I may move this now to my patio and then can try the plastic cover too. 🤞 @thehardygardener
Awsome, I love the big island when I visited the islands, long ago but the National Park blew my mind! Walking through a lava tube!
@thehardygardener - Oh, wow. I have never been to the Big Island. It always sounds wonderful. I went to Maui. The scent of the whole island (except at the airport) and the color of green there is 🤯 amazing💕
