#trellis #clematis #handmadetrellis there is a story about this trellis that I'm sure lots of you know but for the ones that don't: here is a sad little tale of woe! ☹️ Some years back we were visiting with friends on our back patio and have a straight clear view of the trellis (at the time a vine was not covering it) there was a conversation about vines and trellises and the friend said where is yours and I pointed out this one and she said " oh you mean the bed springs"? I felt so let down! I

👆 worked for hours getting the perfect circles on that frame! Now I don't see a trellis when I look at it I see bed springs! Even with the vine on it! 🤦😂

That is hilarious to me because it does NOT look like bed springs. It is beautiful. The exterior shape is quite unique. 🤗💕

@lovestogarden I have to laugh at it now but at the time I was speechless and upset! 🤣🤣 And honestly I can only see bed springs and so does the hubs! 😂

Yes we did make it out of copper pipe and copper refrigerator tubing, I was so thrilled and thought I was so brilliant with the tools and things I used to make the round shapes and such, then one day we have friends visiting and she says to me did you use an old bed spring for a trellis?😲 So now I can't look at it and not think it looks like that!😂😂😂💘😍

Ha ha, old bed springs, it doesn't look anything like old bed springs, it's fabulous. I got my OH to make me a thing (😂) to grow a climber up from copper pipes and I used thick string to go around it, that just rots, now I'll be on the lookout for copper refrigerator tubing to use instead!!!
