I recently read on the internet - not here - that #hippeastrum bulbs are expensive. Well 2 stems, one with 5 flowers one with 7. Has been in flower for over a month - I’ll call that good value #amaryllis #houseplantsjoho worth every penny❤️

That’s a great vase for them? Do you grow a lot of varieties?

Yes the vase is just right, keeps the bulb just above water. I try to find a new (to me) variety each year and grow my old ones when I can. I was looking at some today but couldn’t make up my mind!

I haven’t found them to be difficult Shona (@sho47) just like most other indoor bulbs. This one is a bit different as it’s growing in water in the same way that hyacinths can be grown.
