Lace Aloe, Aristaloe Aristata

Original:Aristaloe aristata, formerly known as Aloe aristata, is a stemless, clump-forming succulent up to 12 inches (30 cm) tall. It forms dense rosettes of stubby, lance-shaped, toothed, white-margined, dark green leaves up to 4 inches (10 cm) long. They have small white spots and soft white spines. It produces terminal panicles up to 20 inches (50 cm) tall, 2 to 6 branched, bearing cylindrical, orange-red flowers up to 1.5 inches (4 cm) long. Aristaloe aristata is native to Lesotho and South Africa (Northern Cape, Western Cape, Eastern Cape, Free State, KwaZulu-Natal). This genus is well known for its ease of cultivation, but species are sensitive to excessive irrigation. Provide regular watering in spring and summer to make the soil thoroughly moist then allow the soil to dry before watering again. In winter, during the dormant season, water sparingly or not at all, as it is prone to rotting. New:Aloe is a Tropical plant, and in colder climates is treated as a Houseplant. They come in many varieties, some of which flower,- there are hundreds of them! They cannot survive in temperatures below 10c/55f. The leaves are spiky and fleshy.

Lace Cactus, Echinocereus reichenbachii

Echinocereus reichenbachii is a solitary or slowly branching cylindrical shaped cactus with up to 12 branches. It is one of the smaller Echinocereus species. Cacti occur in all shapes and sizes. They are extremely well adapted to drought and able to store water within the structure to ensure survival through dry periods. They can be found surviving in the driest places on the planet. Almost all cacti are succulents, and are often grown in greenhouses, particularly in regions unsuited to their cultivation outdoors. They can be grown in the ground or in suitable containers which means that they are suitable as houseplants, being tolerant of the often dry atmosphere. Potted cacti can be moved outside in the warm summer months.

Lace Lady Tree, Robinia pseudoacacia 'Lace Lady'

Lacebark Tree, Brachychiton discolor

The Lacebark Tree has smooth green bark and a pyramidal shape when young. With age, the bark becomes cracked and gray, and the tree's canopy more spreading. Tap the trunk and it sounds hollow, although packed with fibers. The leaves are bluish green with fuzzy grey-white undersides. In late spring to early summer, branch tips produce velvety orange-pink buds. The plump, bell-shaped flower opens a bright rose in colour.
